ASEAN TrustMark Alliance (ATA)'s TrustSeal was developed to increase consumer confidence in the Internet as a vehicle for conducting digital business, and to increase consumer confidence in the application of digital technology.
Professional services firms and practitioners who are approved by the ASEAN TrustMark Alliance can provide assurance services to evaluate and test whether the services provided by a particular digital business meets these principles and criteria. The posting of the TrustSeal of assurance is a symbolic representation of a practitioner's unqualified report. This seal, when provided, is displayed on a digital business’s web site and linked to the practitioner's report and other relevant information.
Members of ATA are representatives of ASEAN countries who are committed to work together to achieve their set objectives for digital trusted third party and promote trustworthy digital business environment.
With the spread of broadband and mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet PCs, digital business transaction is expected to continue to expand. Naturally, trustmark and dispute resolution networks will play a larger role. Since ASEAN countries have different standards, these operations will become very important in order to make cross-border transactions successful. Discussions and arrangements with standards setting bodies such as ENISA and WebTrust with many company participants will be increasingly important. ATA are determined to steadfastly work towards the development and implementation of the Code of Conduct, increase recognition of digital identification for business, privacy information protection, cybersecurity certification.
